His history is mostly a translation from the Persian of Ferishta, with additions from Bernier's Travels; the third, continuation volume deals with the period from the death of Akbar to that of Aurungzebe, and includes two dissertations, On The Origin And Nature Of Despotism In Hindostan, and An Enquiry Into The State Of Bengal.
